Giving a second life to old wood and old metal
to create vintage scenes of cities and villages.
Who's Mylène Trépanier
Living in the country side, north of Montreal, I have always been charmed by the spirit of old ornaments that are part of our heritage. Giving a second life to old wood and old metal has been, for numerous years, a passion for me. Part of the elements I use are wood and metal appliqués from old furnitures and doors, handles and old tin ceiling tiles. I play with colors, textures, patina and paint to create vintage scenes of cities, villages and homes. These artworks are then placed in an angled see-through frame for an interesting 3d effect. It is through the love of my heritage and the adaptation of forgotten objects that I draw my inspiration .
